The Intellectual Property Department (IPD) represents local and foreign clients in all aspects of intellectual property rights (IPR) protection. It handles the registration of patents and trademarks with the Intellectual Property Office (IPOPHIL) and of copyrights with the Copyright Division of the National Library. It has established a network of overseas correspondent law firms for the lodging of applications for registration of patents, trademarks and copyrights in other countries. The Firm’s IPD is at the country’s forefront in the fight against counterfeiting, piracy and unfair competition and in protecting legitimate holders of patents, trademarks and copyright.
